The Michelin Guide's review
The Treasury of Atreus is the largest and finest of the beehive tombs discovered in Mycenae. Built in the tuff and originally hidden under a covering of earth, it is accessed via a 36m-long corridor. The size and perfection of the structure have led to the belief that the tomb was perhaps designed to house the mortal remains of a great king, perhaps even Atreus himself?
