The Michelin Guide's review
This 11,840ha-park runs for 12mi/19km along the pristine River Myakka, protected by the State, and is home to great biodiversity. Roe deer and lynx find shelter in copses of palm trees, pine forests and dry meadows, while alligators and waders prefer Upper Myakka Lake and the marshy grasslands. Activities include hiking, bicycling (on a flat road), tram tours or hovercraft excursions, all of which offer the chance to get a closer look at the plant and wildlife.
