The Michelin Guide's review
From Yaiza to Mozaga, the remarkable landscape of thousands of low dry-stone walls arranged in semi-circles, called zocos, was dreamt up by the imaginative local peasants. The huge honeycombed valley paints an unusual picture. Following the eruptions of 1730-36, which coated the landscape in black ash, and thanks to the peasants' tireless efforts, Lanzarote produces light, white Malvoisie wine that can be tasted in the local bodegas.
