The Michelin Guide's review
Volubilis was Roman from 40 BC to the end of the 3C AD and prospered thanks to the olive oil trade. The vestiges of the largest archaeological site in Morocco, a Unesco World Heritage Site (triumphal arch, thermal baths), have made it possible to reconstruct the layout of the Ancient city. But it is the splendid frescoes adorning many of the buildings with Figurative scenes that make Volubilis a unique site.
