The Michelin Guide's review
This district on the left bank is characterised by steep cobbled streets and traditional small shops which were once home to craftsmen, copper workers, saddlers and weavers. Here, among the stalls with their stone canopies and near the 16C and 17C mosques, there is a real sense of the city's Ottoman history. Don't miss the 17C Turkish house or Biscevic residence, a haven of peace and quiet with its fountain and its terrapins.
