Montrésor castle
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The elegant Renaissance Château de Montrésor owes its resurrection to the Polish count, Xavier Branicki, a political exile fleeing the ukases of Russian tsar Nicholas I. Endowed with an immense fortune and great generosity, the count was a godsend for Montrésor, first and foremost for its castle. Today it can still be seen as it was fitted out, namely, full of precious objects and furniture, standing proud over the banks of the Indrois.
