Ritz-Carlton Hotel
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The Ritz-Carlton conjures up nostalgic thoughts of the Roaring Twenties. The elegant structure (1912) features a Renaissance Revival façade of limestone embellished with terra-cotta ornamentation, and a wrought-iron canopy illuminated by superb lamps. The western section of the building was added in 1956; note especially the decorative panels surmounting the windows. The richly decorated lobby and the hotel's reception rooms are replete with marble, bronze, leather and rich wood panelling.
