The Michelin Guide's review
This imposing Renaissance Revival structure (1929) evokes the grandeur of 15C Florentine palaces. The edifice displayed several features considered innovative for the time: an underground parking area and two-level shopping mall, and the first wooden escalators to appear in Montreal. Also considered novel was the fact that the building housed both offices and boutiques.
