The Michelin Guide's review
Montreal's Chinatown sprung up during the 1860s, with the arrival of Chinese immigrants from the American West. Nowadays, Chinatown remains lively and is a meeting point for the Asian community as well as a picturesque sightseeing destination for tourists. Notice the two Chinese-style arches that span Rue de la Gauchetière, the murals along Rue Saint-Urbain and on Rue Côté, the Wing house, one of the oldest in the neighbourhood.
