The Michelin Guide's review
The bustling Boulevard St-Laurent thoroughfare once divided the city's French speaking (east) and English speaking (west) populations. Laid out in 1672, the artery long formed Montreal's main street, hence its nickname "The Main". The Main is a popular haven for migrant communities with Chinatown in the south, Jewish merchants in the north, a thriving Greek community and today, Slav, Portuguese and Latin American immigrants.
