The Michelin Guide's review
Overlooking Northumberland Strait just east of Cap-Egmont, this twin-steepled brick church (1896) replaces two earlier wooden structures, the first of which was built in 1820 as a mission church for the Acadian community of Mont-Carmel. The church's symmetrical facade and rounded interior vaults are reminiscent of religious architecture in France's Poitou region, original home of most of the island's first Acadian settlers.
