Sainte-Dévote church has stood on the site of an ancient chapel dedicated to this saint since 1870. In the church, a chest containing the saint's relics sits on a beautiful 18C marble altar. Claude Gautier, a painter from Monaco, has donated two paintings of the martyrdom of this saint, the Patron saint of the principality. Roman Catholicism is the state religion of Monaco.
