The Michelin Guide's review
At the dawn of the 18C, Constantin Brâncoveanu, then Prince of Wallachia, had this summer lakeside palace built to the north of the capital. The pink brick edifice is considered to be a masterpiece of Brâncovesc architecture. It was then an inn, before being sacked by Turks and Russians. When the Bibesco family recuperated the palace in the 19C, it was in a pitiful state, prompting a renovation and landscaping project.
