The Michelin Guide's review
This vast 527sq mi park carved by the deep canyons of the Colorado and Green Rivers is one of the wildest in the West. Its three main sections - Island in the Sky, the Needles and the Maze - are separated by the two rivers and reached via different routes. The deep canyons, deserts, mesas and rocky spires are best explored on foot, as the viewpoints accessible by car, although stunning, don't do justice to the variety of superb landscapes that can be admired here.
