Acadian Museum of Prince Edward Island
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Erected in 1991, this modern facility for the preservation of Acadian heritage combines a historical museum with a documentation centre for genealogical research. The main gallery charts Acadian history after 1720, by way of texts, slide shows, arts and crafts, photographs, textiles and journals donated by local families. Audiovisual presentations broach topics such as religion, education and economy. An adjacent art gallery hosts temporary themed exhibitions.
