Visible from miles around, downtown Minneapolis boasts some true architectural gems. The pedestrian Nicollet Mall is the site of most of the town's retail activity, while the celebrated Skyway System is a series of covered galleries that link up more than 86 downtown blocks. Foshay Tower is recognisable by its 3m sign displayed above the observation deck on the 30th floor. At 777 Nicollet Mall, the IDS Center tower (241m) is the tallest building in the state.
