The Michelin Guide's review
This district contains fascinating relics of the growth of industry in Minneapolis. In the early 19C, the first mills were erected over the waterfalls; three generations later, over 20 gargantuan flourmills were built there, as warehouses sprung up nearby. Today, the old buildings are gradually being regenerated, giving this forgotten area a new lease of life. Follow St Anthony Falls Heritage Trail, which takes you along the riverfront.
