The Michelin Guide's review
A remnant of Milwaukee's grand days as America's beer capital, the elegant Flemish Renaissance-style mansion (1892) with its terracotta ornamentation was built for the German-born Frederick Pabst, captain of a Great Lakes steamship company. The tour takes you to the neo-Classical domed beer pavilion, a throwback to the 1893 World's Exposition in Chicago, where Pabst won the blue ribbon that is still the symbol of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.
