The Michelin Guide's review
Mileševa Monastery, a good example of the Raška school of architecture, was founded around 1234 by Stefan Nemanjic's grandson Vladislav. It is here that the relics of St Sava are kept. In the 13C, the monastery was the second most important religious centre in the kingdom. It suffered several fires at the hands of the Ottomans. It is above all famed for its splendid fresco of the White Angel.
