The Michelin Guide's review
This huge, almost-closed, bay named in homage to King George IV of England, is separated from Lake Huron by Bruce Peninsula and Manitoulin Island. The north and east banks, are wild and dotted with a multitude of little islands. Contrasting with these rocky shores and the Niagara Escarpement is the sandy Midland Peninsula. Georgian Bay is a very popular holiday area, offering good water sports facilities. Its beauty is best contemplated on a boat trip.
