The Michelin Guide's review
Among the 8 000 or so objects found on the site, the god of Death, a skeletal figure with clawed hands, sends shivers down your spine! The famous basalt Coyolxauhqui Stone represents the goddess of the Moon in a very human way. Here, the Monolith of Tlaltecuhtli, god of the Earth, has the appearance of a crouching woman. The many other treasures in the Museo del Templo Mayor, such as masks, jewellery, funerary urns and sculptures, including the majestic Eagle Warriors, make it a fascinating place to visit.
