The Michelin Guide's review
Mexico's national university has its origins in the 16C, as a result of the ambitions of Charles V. A real beacon of learning since then, nowadays it occupies a grandiose campus, commissioned in the 1940s. Over 60 architects worked on this project alongside renowned artists: Mario Pani, inspired by Functionalism, Juan O'Gorman, admirer of Le Corbusier, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, to name but a few. The Central Campus, inaugurated in 1952, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
