The Michelin Guide's review
With its rock formations carved out on a desert plain, the Valley of the Gods is in a similar vein to its southerly neighbour, Monument Valley, but smaller in scale and far less crowded. A 27km road loops around the site, passing some stunning buttes and mesas. (The road is not well maintained and is sometimes in a poor condition; rain can make it difficult or impossible for your vehicle to pass.)
