The Michelin Guide's review
The oldest church in France, Saint-Pierre-aux-Nonnains dates from 390. It was originally a lay basilica that was transformed into a chapel around 615. This is when the splendid chancel with carved panels was added (kept in the Cour d'Or museum). In turn a Benedictine chapel and a military depot in the 16C, it is a significant part of Metz's heritage.
