The Michelin Guide's review
In order to protect themselves from Tartars and Turks, the Saxons built over 300 fortress churches in the region. St Margaret fortified church is the largest, with a double perimeter wall and five towers added in 1450, including the curiously slanted, 68m-tall Trumpeters' Tower. Inside, note the remarkable collection of 15C-17C Ottoman carpets, Baroque pulpit, and four superb retables, three of which come from surrounding villages.
