Along with the shipping canal, this attractive square is the focal point of the old town. The cathedral, dominated by its elegant Baroque bell tower, stands in the background, while the Episcopal palace can be seen to the left and the Seminario dei Chierici, completed by a neo-Classical portico and loggia, to the right. A statue of the town's patron saint, San Vito, by Ignazio Marabitti, graces the centre of the square.
