The Michelin Guide's review
Above the peaceful little town of Malta, this high alpine road leads all the way to the impressive Kölnbrein dam, peaking at 1900m/6233ft high. To reach the dam, one must successively cross nine bridges and seven tunnels, including a particularly spectacular one in the form of a hairpin bend. At times traffic alternates. The gradual climb reveals a wealth of vegetation and waterfalls cascading down from the surrounding peaks, including Fallbach, Melnikfall and Hintere Maralmfall.
