The Michelin Guide's review
The imposing St Peter's church was built on the model of the Marienkirche in Lübeck at the beginning of the 14C. The interior is bright and high, with rib vaulting resting on slender pillars. The Krämarkapellet (tradesmen's chapel) has retained its medieval frescoes. The 15m-high altarpiece (1611), the sandstone and black tufa pulpit (1599), and the octagonal baptismal fonts (1601), the last two by the same artisan, Daniel Tommisen, are all worthy of particular note.
