The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1560 by Palladio, the Malcontenta is one of the gems of the Brenta Riviera. Hidden by a curtain of greenery on a bend of the river, its handsome columned porch overlooks the waterway. It is named after a discontented young woman of the Foscari family, whose dissolute lifestyle resulted in her being locked away in this country house far from the town. Inside, the walls are covered in grotesques by Giambattista Zelotti, who also finished the amazing frescoes by Battista Franco.
