The Michelin Guide's review
This splendid garden was laid out in the mid-19C when the daughter of a ship owner from Málaga had tropical and sub-tropical species brought back to Spain that were subsequently introduced to the region. A century and a half later, the result is this delightful tropical forest dotted with pools and waterfalls. Perhaps it was beneath its superb wrought-iron arbour embellished with wisteria, ivy and bougainvillea that Antonio Cánovas del Castillo, who often used to come here, drew up the 1876 Constitution.
