The Michelin Guide's review
Beyond Madières, the River Vis runs between the high cliffs of the Blandas limestone plateau and the steep slopes of the Séranne mountain, creating narrow meanders which are perfect for swimming. On leaving Le Claux, the ruined Château de Castelas can be seen to the right on a clifftop at the mouth of a ravine. Past Gorniès, a bridge spans the Vis, with a lovely view of Beauquiniès, a pretty terraced village, and of the Roc de Senescal, jutting out from the slope on the left. The valley then becomes narrow and rugged before running into the Hérault gorge.
