European Investment Bank
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Established in 1957 under the Treaty of Rome, the European Investment Bank (BEI) was erected on the Kirchberg Plateau in 1973. It was extended twice: in the 1990s, then in 2008. This one, a spectacular gigantic shell, looks at first glance to be entirely transparent and without edges. The structure, designed by German agency Ingenhoven, renowned for its "green" architectural designs, meets the highest standards of environmental quality.
