The Michelin Guide's review
The name of this island, which is 5km by 2km, comes from the old Icelandic "lunde", meaning "rock-bird". Only 30 or so of these birds still live here alongside the razorbills, guillemots, fulmars, puffins, shags and different species of gulls. Declared a marine reserve in 1986, the island also attracts visitors keen to see its marine wildlife (seals, sharks and porpoises). The land is populated by Lundy Ponies, Sika Stags and Soay sheep. A real paradise!
