The Michelin Guide's review
This Romanesque church, nicknamed La Canonica, reminds us that in times past the bishop and canons (canonicus) resided in a neighbouring episcopal palace that has since disappeared. Although the present building, consecrated in 1119, is modest in size, it is nevertheless the largest medieval place of worship on the island. Its beauty derives from the clarity and purity of its proportions and elevations, but also from the various subtle colours of the stone, ranging from greyish yellow to pale green.
