The Michelin Guide's review
This national park is the natural treasure of Luang Nam Tha province, a region that focuses heavily on green tourism. Its primary forests cover an area of around 2 200km2 along the Chinese border and are dissected by three tributaries of the Mekong. Travel agencies in the provincial capital offer descents of the Nam Tha river by canoe, raft and kayak. They also organise long guided hikes to hot springs and waterfalls, with an overnight in villages inhabited by mountain tribes.
