The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Perched amid the green hills of the Bel Air and Brentwood districts, the Getty is worth a visit as much for its architecture (six gleaming white buildings with pure lines designed by Richard Meier) and gardens as for its collections. The museum is home to Italian, Flemish and Dutch paintings from 1600 to 1800, as well as French decorative arts and European paintings from 1800 to 1900. The Central Garden, a work of art created by Robert Irwin, offers splendid views.
