As you enter this hotel, you come into a huge lobby decorated in Spanish colonial style, furnished with comfortable armchairs and echoing with soft music. Once frequented by a host of celebrities, including Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks and Louis B. Mayer, the Roosevelt Hotel was also the setting for the first Academy Awards ceremony held here in 1929. Renovated in 2005, this palace-hotel is famous for its poolside parties.
