The Michelin Guide's review
El Pueblo, the historic heart of downtown LA, is home to some thirty buildings, most of which date from the second half of the 19C. Olvera Street, the main pedestrian thoroughfare, is lined with shops and stalls, Sepulveda House blends Mexican and Anglo-Saxon influences and Avila Adobe is the oldest existing house of Los Angeles. The distinctive yellow-fronted Nuestra Senora Reina of Los Angeles church (1781) remains a place of gathering and prayer of the Mexican community.
