The Michelin Guide's review
This site was owned by the Dominicans until 1276 and then purchased by the Count of Lincoln. He built a large house on the site, which he bequeathed to be used as a residence for law students. The buildings were constructed in brick and decorated with stone motifs at the end of the 15C. The oldest building, Old Hall, dates from 1490. The main door opens on to a tangle of courtyards and buildings shown off to advantage by the surrounding gardens decorated with Gothic coach houses.
