The Michelin Guide's review
For centuries, this area's marshy pastures were used to fatten livestock for the City and a single path allowed access to the Greenwich ferry. With the building of the West India Docks in the early 19C, a densely inhabited district sprang up around the three docks to the north and its main quayside, Canary Wharf. In recent years the Isle of Dogs has undergone significant regeneration and redevelopment.
