The Michelin Guide's review
Burlington House is the home of the Royal Academy of Arts, which, founded in 1768, first occupied Somerset House. Learned societies occupy the left wing. The permanent collections include paintings by former members of the Academy (Reynolds, Gainsborough, Constable and Turner), 18C furnishings, a Madonna by Michelangelo and the famous copy of Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper. The gallery is first and foremost an important venue for high-profile temporary exhibitions.
