The Royal Botanic Gardens reflect a long tradition of aestheticism, study and research. In addition to the largest herbarium in the world, the domain is home to the Wood Museum and a library with over 100 000 books on botany and School of Horticulture. They make up a wonderful tableau of woodland and green lawns with colourful flowerbeds and, around these, the various buildings, including the famous Palm House.
