The Michelin Guide's review
Inspired by Dutch architecture, Kew Palace is a dark red-brick building built for Samuel Fortrey with distinctive Dutch attic gables and remarkable for its rich stylistic diversity. The interior is that of a small Georgian country house, with panelled rooms downstairs while upstairs there is remarkable wallpaper, plus portraits by Gainsborough and Zoffany. The beautiful gardens are laid out in the French style.
