Royal Mews
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Until the reign of George IV the Royal stables were found at Charing Cross on the site now occupied by the National Gallery. It was John Nash who laid out the current buildings where the carriages of the Queen are stored. A Grand Equerry looks after and manages the horses known as «Windsor greys», horse-drawn coaches and cars including the eight-horse coronation coach weighing nearly four tonnes.
