The Michelin Guide's review
Built from 1886-1894 by Barrie and Jones, Tower Bridge measures a total of 805m in length. Joined to the banks of the Thames by two suspension bridges, the massive Gothic towers which form the framework for the workings are linked by a road bridge (a drawbridge) and, on the upper level, by a pedestrian footbridge which has impressive views of the Tower of London. Temporary exhibitions are held in the towers and the machinery room.
