The Vale is a cluster of old cottages built in the residential district of Hampstead. Built in a dip in the Heath, this chic area is a maze of narrow roads and paths with a few modern constructions. Many famous figures have lived here, and some of the places are worth a look: Inverforth House (to the west), preceded by a long flower-filled pergola; The Hill Public Garden, laid out on a steeply sloping site; Golders Hill Park, with its landscaped lawns and two ponds.
