The Michelin Guide's review
Official residence of London's Lord Mayors, who are only in office for one year. Mansion House was built between 1739 and 1752 by the city architect George Dance the Elder, who took Palladio's Venetian villas as his inspiration. The inside has magnificent reception rooms, lavishly furnished and decorated, from the portico to the Long Parlour and Egyptian Hall. The silverware and the insignia of the Lord Mayor are quite remarkable.
