The Michelin Guide's review
At the edge of the City, Staple Inn was one of the nine Chancery schools attached to Gray's Inn where law students spent their first year. The partly wooden structure is a rare survivor from medieval London. The façade on Holborn, half-timbered and incorporating corbelling, dates from the years 1586-1596. A vaulted passage allows access to a charming courtyard garden surrounded by 18C buildings.
