The Michelin Guide's review
The port of Lisbon enjoys a prime location at the crossroads of commercial maritime routes between Rotterdam, Africa and Brazil. It makes the city an essential port of call in Europe, both for freight and passenger transport. Many liners call at the passenger ports of Rocha do Conde de Óbidos, Alcântara and Santa Apolónia (cruises). Finally, trips along the Tagus River are a great way to see the city and get a good look at the comings and goings of the port traffic.
