The Michelin Guide's review
It contains two marvels: the Bishop's Palace and the Vicar's Court (1300-1400). Built on the plateau's slopes, the ruined palace reflects the grandeur of Lincoln's medieval prelates. The East Hall is Norman and the West Hall, built by St Hugh, Early English. The four buildings in Vicar's Court and its mid-15C barn are a rare survival of domestic architecture of this period.
